Mid Century Modern Sideboard/ Cocktail/Drinks Cabinet
Introducing Ophelia ❤️
I've not come across a sideboard quite like Ophelia before. She carries no manufacture markings and all searches I have done, have turned up blank. However it wouldn't take an expert to see she is a mid century piece and a very cool one at that.
After completely stripping and sanding her to bare bones, her unusual barrel revolving, trayed midsection, was painted in ash grey. As too were the outskirts of her body and the back wall of her cupboards.
A gold line design was used on her walnut grained drawers and doors. That grain was then popped by applying a hard wearing wax oil.
On the outside of her spinning middle and the inside of her double doors, a gold deco stencil was added. And to either side, the addition of mirrors ensured she simply was a showstopping piece.
To finish, her hard wear was cleaned, polished and sprayed. A motion censored rechargeable light fixed to the inside roof of her barrell and she was sealed in all her beauty using a Polyvine satin varnish.
