Say hello to Erling 💙
Back when I first started this business in 2021, I was always on the lookout for unusual pieces, and that is one thing that has never changed. I first came across a similar 1950s Rivington of London dual function cocktail cabinet/bar back then, and I have been searching for another one ever since.
The handsome and wonderfully unusual Erling is a surprisingly well equipped mobile drinks cabinet. He has been carefully stripped, sanded and restored, then given a glamorous Art Deco inspired makeover using Fusion Mineral Paint in Midnight Blue and RustOleum Antique Gold, before being finished with a hard wearing oil to really bring out the richness of his walnut grain.
His side wings, which support the fold out bar counter, have been integrated seamlessly into the overall design, and all of his missing accessories have been sourced and replaced.
Sitting on castors, Erling can be easily moved to wherever the party is happening. The sliding glass doors at the back provide easy access for whoever is mixing the drinks when cocktail night is in full swing, and the top unfolds to reveal a generous serving bar. When the evening is over, he can be tucked neatly back against the wall, and his lockable front doors keep everything safely stored away from little hands.
They really do not make them like Erling anymore. As with every piece I have created over the past five years, he is completely unique and will not be replicated, so if you love him, do not leave him behind before the opportunity is gone.
